The Bailey Photo Gallery

Feel free to browse our family photo gallery. We have many friends around the globe and use this page to share our life.

In 2002, we took nearly 11,000 photos and we crossed the 50,000 photo mark on our Canon D30 in December of 2005. We enjoy taking pictures of everything we do.

Below, you will find new and more recent items we enjoyed.

Check out the new slide show of our adventures!!

Instructions: To navigate the gallery, click on the title of the item you would like to see. Most of these entries have more than one photo per entry.

At the bottom of every page, you will find a number of categories. Just about every item falls under four different categories. There is a search feature and most important, the Show All will give a listing of EVERY SINGLE ENTRY in the Photo Gallery.

The newest photos are at the top of each listing.

You can have a photo gallery like this for your family. It is great for families that are spread across the country or across the globe. To find out about your own gallery like this, see the box at the bottom of this page. We can get you set up quickly.

This ice was up to 1 1/2 inches thick. 5 Trees fell on our cabin and countless others everywhere else! The Thaw started Friday with bright sun and a 37 degree high. Ahhhhh... This is one of the largest branches that fell on the cabin... really shook us up a bit. No damage to the roof, but a minor bend on the dogs kennel. It is leaning agai
PTO Generator installation complete - Now we can be off grid when the power goes down.

In preparation for the inevitable power outage we will eventually have, we invested in a PTO generator for the property.  It is a generator that hooks to the back of the tractor.  When researching generators, we discovered that we could easily spend $10,000 on a generator big enough to keep us running if needed. With a little research, I found t...

Well, we have finally broken ground on the earth shelter house.  The hole grows every time I go out there to dig. Ultimately, we are digging into the side of the hill and area that is 62 feet deep and 88 feet wide.  About 1/3 of that is actually lower than we are digging.  We will be leveling the whole area. Once leveled, we will be digging f

Today, we arrived at opening time at the museum.  To do this we had to leave very early in the morning, before the sun was up.  Cruised the Autobahn at a high rate of speed and found a surprisingly close parking place less than a block away from the front door! Now this museum is not small... it is 5 large floors of fantastic exhibits that you c...

Now don't get me wrong, all the exhibits I have seen in the USA are good, but there is a definite bias shown in the display.  Whether by design or availability of information,

Easily, the most impressive part of the museum was the Reptile Zoo.  I have been to many museums, zoos and exhibits, but this exceeds any I have ever seen.  There are over 50 terraria housing about 200 animals.  These exhibits are designed so well that you can come within inches of the specimens and study every detail of movement, markings and more...

The Hohensalzburg Fortress is perched high on the peak of Festungsberg. The castle served as a refuge for the Archbishops when ever they felt threatened. The best way to get to the fortress is by taking the funicular. You can walk up the mountain if you wish but the funicular is quick, inexpensive and very comfortable. The ride takes less than a mi
More Pine from Ike Storm Damage! -
Sargent's Ranch is the property of one of our neighbors.. 1100 acres of beautiful country side. We went to get a large pine that probably has enough wood to finish the garage. The usable trunk is 54 feet long and 22 inches at the bottom. I cut it into three 18 foot lengths. These pieces were all too big for my tractor to handle. Once loade...

Next we headed to Neuschwanstein, It was a glorious scenic drive up the mountains. It is quite a walk up a steep hill to the castle but in the royal fantasy they offer horse drawn carriage rides up and down the mountain. I had to do this, there is just something so fairy tale about riding up to the castle in a horse drawn carriage. we squeezed in, ...

Today we went into the Alps in on a castle day.  The Alps were very impressive how the foot hills have trees and the peaks are barren because it is too high for anything to grow.
