Son of King Louis VII
In the late 1100s Philip II, King of France saw the need for defensive measures from enemies.  He built his large palace that is described in the Louvre.  He also build large walls all the way around the city.  The walls were really 2 walls several feet apart filled in between with rubble and debris.

This impressive section of wall is located down Rue Clovis from the Pantheon.  That is the road that goes down the left side of the Pantheon as you look at it from the front.  Proceed down the left side of the the Pantheon and keep going down the hill through a couple intersections.  As you get near the end of the road at Rue du Cardinal, you will see this section of remaining wall on the right side of the road.  Go touch it then take a great picture for yourself from across the road.
