Channel Catfish are a favorite among many Oklahoma anglers. The Channel Catfish ranks #3 in the Oklahoma Angler survey. They feed by taste so prepared stink baits, cut shad, or night crawlers are an excellent choice for bait.

In clear water, Channel Cats can see their food, but in murky water they use other senses. Channel Cats have taste buds all over their bodies, including their whiskers or barbels. When in murky water, they use these barbels to find their food by tasting the water. The barbels are also used to touch and feel.
